Merit

  • Shrewsbury Public Library          Lamoureux Pagano & Associates, Inc

Jury comments: This Merit Award recognizes the thoughtful juxtaposition of the large new addition as it pays homage to the existing classically designed library building, how the architecture exploits a challenging site, and how internally it axially marries the new to the existing.

  • St. Andrews                                     Cram and Ferguson Architects

Jury comments: This Merit Award recognizes an amazingly seamless addition to the sanctuary of an existing masonry walled Gothic Revival church paying respect to the existing architecture with a focus on detail.

  • Quinn Middle School                    OMR Architects

Jury comments: This Merit Award recognizes this very well organized and detailed educational building where grades are separated into neighborhoods  with architecture that focuses on the quality of light in every area.

  • St. Kateri                                          Cram and Ferguson Architects
Jury comments: This Merit Award recognizes the design finesse in rebuilding a tornado-destroyed church that features thoughtful interior finishes using color and lighting with dramatic results.

Honor

  •  College of the Holy Cross Contemplative Center    Lamoureux Pagano & Associates, Inc. with William J. Masiello Architect, Inc.

Jury comments: This year's Honor Award recognizes thoughtful human-scaled architecture that successfully integrates its building components with the land. The architecture is expressed with simple materiality reflecting its quiet intended purpose. This is architecture with a capital “A”.
