Join AIA Central Massachusetts to better understand design and construction legal matters for small architectural firms and how to mitigate legal time and expenses. Lawyer Maura Greene offers legal advice in this informal workshop that can help manage client expectations and avoid claims that are costly and damaging to any firm. This workshop offers advice and tools to reduce the risk of design-related legal action as well as discussing employment-related policies every small firm should consider.
Greene, a trial attorney and partner at Keegan Werlin LLP, has 23 years of legal experience and is general counsel to architecture, engineering, construction and technology firms. She is a frequent lecturer on construction-related and risk-management topics and successfully represented A/E firms in state and federal courts and before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Greene represents clients in mediations, arbitrations and administrative proceedings and also lectures on employment topics and counsels business and individuals on employment-related matters. She has published numerous articles on topics such as construction reform, sexual harassment training, avoiding employment claims, mediation and arbitration of claims against design professionals, and construction liens and bonds.
