Changing practices for design, engineering, installation and maintenance
Join AIA Central Massachusetts for a workshop that explores storm-water management. National trends for greener construction and comprehensive stormwater quality management are leading to changes in regulations and in Massachusetts this is resulting in new focus on groundwater recharge, water quality control and preservation of soils and vegetation. Practices such as porous pavement/pavers, bioretention areas and rainwater recovery are becoming commonplace. This seminar will focus on the new regulations, changes to engineering designs, measures during construction phases and long-term operation and maintenance of LID practices. Bethany Eisenberg, LEED AP, Director of Stormwater Services at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin leads this workshop.
The program fee for this seminar is $20 ($10 for AIA Central Massachusetts and BSA members). 2.0 HSW Learning Unit is provided for this workshop.
This interactive presentation is open to all design professionals, builders, clients/owners, building officials and allied industry professionals on a first-come, first-served basis.
Advanced registration is required. For more information and to register, visit www.aiacm.org and select "Register Here" under the workshops heading or email your registration and payment information to ewhite@architects.org.
