About the Film: This documentary film tells the story of Jane Week’s namesake, Jane Jacobs – journalist, housewife, mother, and urban activist.  She fought the orthodox city planning rules of Robert Moses and harnessed people power to save the soul of New York City by focusing on the role that diversity and the built environment play in creating vibrant urban communities.  View the film, then join in an interactive discussion focused on the life and work of Jane Jacobs.

Moderator:  Joyce Mandell, Jane Week organizer, sociologist, and community development specialist.
