AIA CM Member Fee: All Entry Types - $50 for 1st entry and $25 each additional

Non-Member Entry Fee: 

Building Design - $100 for 1st entry and $75 each additional

Architectural Art/Craft - $50 for 1st entry and $25 each additional

Project Eligibility Guidelines

Any structure or project type, built and unbuilt, (including historic preservation, rehabs, interiors, monuments, furniture, an architectural feature (patio, wall, construction component, etc.) and architecture related art and/or craft located anywhere in the world by an AIACM architect.

Any structure, building project, built and unbuilt, and including historic preservation, rehabs, interiors, monuments, furniture, an architectural feature (patio, wall, construction component, etc. and architecture related art and/or craft in the AIA Central Massachusetts graphic area (see list) by any architect, designer or architectural craftsperson.


The judging criterion is design excellence over a range of building and design types, sizes, and budgets. Entries in the following categories are encouraged:

  • ·         Commercial Small (under $2 million)
  • ·         Commercial Large
  • ·         Commercial Addition and/or Renovation
  • ·         Institutional Small (under $2 million)
  • ·         Institutional Large
  • ·         Preservation
  • ·         Single Family Residential Small (under $1 million)
  • ·         Single Family Residential Large
  • ·         Single Family Addition and/or Renovation
  • ·         Multi-Family Residential
  • ·         Vintage Projects (over 10 years old)
  • ·         Unbuilt Projects
  • ·         NEW CATEGORIES -  Inspirational Concept Doodle or Sketch (by hand); Constructed Project on the Cheap; and Architectural Art/Craft

ABOUT THE JURY:  Jurors will consist of AIA Architects. The Design Awards jury is empowered to determine the extent to which design excellence is informed by aesthetic, functional, contextual, sustainable, social or other characteristics.  The jury may honor projects by type or other categories and will attempt to include most categories (regardless of size) where appropriate.
