AIA Central Massachusetts Announces the Recipients of the 2015 Honor Awards. Structures or buildings (or groups of either) of any size and any project type built or renovated/rehabilitated in Central Massachusetts by any architect anywhere in the world, or any project type built or renovated/rehabilitated anywhere in the world if by an architect/firm that is currently a resident of Central Massachusetts are eligible.
Awards were presented at the 2015 AIA CM Annual Dinner attended by 70 members, awardees and clients, jurors and spouses and friends.
HONOR AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURE
Extension/Restoration of St. Edward’s Chapel, The Casady School, Oklahoma City, OK
Cram & Ferguson Architects - Ethan Anthony, AIA with Kevin M. Hogan
Jury Comments: Sublime seamless authentic addition, better than the original, refinement to detailing that is rare in today’s environment, the real thing.
Sophisticated Serenity, Private Residence, Boylston, MA
William J. Masiello Architect, Inc. – William Masiello, AIA with David Martin and Sinead Gallivan
Jury Comments: An accomplished building that lives up to its name. A transitional shingle style to modern. A very good floor plan. Not boring and not ostentatious.

Jury Comments: This is a fun whimsical project for an artist’s residence and studio. The interiors are fantastic. A good solution to an insulating problem, insulation on the outside allowing an opportunity to expose and paint the studs on the inside
